Crazy Shaolin Disciples (1985) Also Known As: Crazy Shaolin Students · Di Zi Ye Feng Kuang · 弟子也瘋狂. Directed by Yau Fung-Hung, this Hong Kong kung fu film brings together Wong Yu, Chin Siu-ho, Gordon Liu, Lo Meng and other familiar martial arts performers in a story about Shaolin fighters resisting Qing forces.

The Story

Hung Hei-Kwun, Fong Sai-yuk and Wu Hui-chien seek refuge at the Shaolin Temple after an attack by Qing forces. The monks shelter them while they continue training and prepare for the threat outside the temple.

The young fighters must learn to work together as the authorities close in. Their struggle brings the traditions of Southern Shaolin into conflict with the forces pursuing them.

The Martial Arts

The film features traditional Shaolin training, group fights and hand-to-hand combat. Its large cast gives viewers the chance to see several performers associated with Hong Kong kung fu cinema sharing the screen.
