Mona Fong didn’t need to be in front of the camera to matter. She was one of the people who helped keep the Shaw machine moving, backing the stars, productions, and decisions that shaped Hong Kong cinema for decades.

She wasn’t a martial artist, but she was absolutely part of the reason so many legendary martial arts films got made and sustained at the level they did.

Mona Fong died in 2017, closing the life of one of the most important behind-the-scenes figures in Shaw history.
