STORY OVERVIEW

After powerful enemies threaten the Shaolin order, a young martial artist journeys into Tibet to master Lama kung fu and strengthen his fighting skills. As rival clans battle for supremacy, he becomes caught in a struggle that will determine the future of the Shaolin Temple. His training, courage, and determination are tested through a series of increasingly dangerous confrontations before the conflict reaches its climactic showdown.

MARTIAL ARTS HIGHLIGHTS

Shaolin Temple Against Lama showcases traditional Shaolin boxing, Lama martial arts, extended training sequences, hand-to-hand combat, acrobatic kicking, and weapon fighting. Alexander Lo Rei demonstrates his athletic fighting style throughout the film while numerous battles between Shaolin monks and Lama practitioners deliver the fast-paced choreography that collectors of classic independent kung fu cinema appreciate.

WHY COLLECTORS PICK IT

Collectors enjoy Shaolin Temple Against Lama for its focus on martial arts training, its blend of Shaolin and Tibetan Lama fighting styles, and Alexander Lo Rei's energetic performance. The film remains a favorite among fans seeking lesser-known independent kung fu productions outside the major Hong Kong studios.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE

Released in 1980 during the international kung fu boom, the film reflects the popularity of Shaolin-themed adventures that followed the success of 1970s martial arts cinema. Its emphasis on Lama kung fu helps distinguish it from the many Shaolin productions of the period.
