Rurouni Kenshin 3: The Legend Ends brings the live-action Rurouni Kenshin trilogy to its thunderous conclusion as Kenshin Himura faces his most dangerous enemy, Makoto Shishio. Directed by Keishi Ōtomo and starring Takeru Satoh, Tatsuya Fujiwara, and Emi Takei, this Japanese samurai action film delivers spectacular swordplay, intense battles, and one of the series' defining final confrontations.

STORY OVERVIEW

Following the cliff-hanger ending of Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno, Kenshin is left stranded after his confrontation with Shishio. Shishio has taken Kaoru aboard his ironclad ship and plans to overthrow the Meiji government, plunging Japan back into chaos. Kenshin must find a way to recover his strength and prepare for the final battle.

Kenshin seeks out his former master, Hiko Seijuro, to learn the ultimate technique of the Hiten Mitsurugi school. As Shishio's forces move toward their final confrontation with the government, Kenshin joins forces with his allies for an all-out battle against Shishio and the members of the Juppongatana.

MARTIAL ARTS HIGHLIGHTS

Rurouni Kenshin 3: The Legend Ends is packed with Japanese swordplay, kenjutsu-inspired combat, rapid sword exchanges, acrobatic movement, and large-scale samurai battles. Action director Kenji Tanigaki helped shape the film's demanding fight choreography, with the final Kenshin versus Shishio confrontation serving as one of the trilogy's signature action sequences.
