Fury in Shaolin Temple (1979), also released as Fury in the Shaolin Temple, Raiders of Shaolin Kung Fu, and Friendship Forged in Blood, was originally released as Shao Lin Zhen Ying Xiong (少林真英雄). The film is directed by Godfrey Ho Chi-Keung and stars Gordon Liu Chia-Hui, Phillip Ko Fei, Chan Siu-Lun, Sor Young Chi, Gam Kei-Chu, and Lee Fat-Yuen. Combining Shaolin training, hidden martial arts manuals, traditional kung fu, and nonstop action, this late-1970s martial arts adventure is a worthwhile title for collectors of classic kung fu cinema.

STORY OVERVIEW

When a priceless Shaolin martial arts manual disappears, a young disciple becomes caught in a dangerous struggle against ruthless fighters determined to uncover its secrets. Raised under the guidance of the Shaolin Temple, he must strengthen his skills, overcome betrayal, and face increasingly dangerous enemies before the sacred knowledge falls into the wrong hands without revealing the film's conclusion.

As rival martial artists pursue the missing manual, the young fighter's Shaolin training becomes increasingly important to the struggle around him. With dangerous opponents closing in and secrets surrounding the martial arts teachings, he must rely on discipline, determination, and the skills he has learned at Shaolin as the conflict moves toward its final confrontations.

MARTIAL ARTS HIGHLIGHTS

Fury in Shaolin Temple features traditional Shaolin training, hard-hitting hand-to-hand combat, and numerous weapon battles. Gordon Liu brings his trademark athleticism and martial arts ability to the action, while Phillip Ko Fei provides a formidable opponent and adds plenty of intensity to the film's fight sequences.

WHY COLLECTORS PICK IT

Fury in Shaolin Temple is a worthwhile title for fans of Gordon Liu and lesser-known martial arts productions from the late 1970s. Collectors will appreciate the Shaolin setting, traditional training, memorable villains, and steady stream of kung fu action outside the better-known Shaw Brothers catalog.
