Golden Harvest was founded in 1970 by Raymond Chow and Leonard Ho and became one of the major film studios in Hong Kong. The company competed with Shaw Brothers while building a strong reputation for martial arts, action, comedy, and other popular genres. Golden Harvest also played an important role in bringing Hong Kong films to audiences outside Asia.
The studio became closely associated with Bruce Lee through films including The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, The Way of the Dragon, and Enter the Dragon. These productions helped establish Lee as one of the most recognizable martial arts stars of the early 1970s and brought Hong Kong action cinema to a much larger international audience.
