Philip Kwok, also known as Kuo Chui, became one of the most recognizable members of the Venom Mob, the group of performers closely associated with Shaw Brothers martial arts films during the late 1970s and 1980s. Known for his speed, acrobatics, and versatility, he appeared as heroes, villains, and martial artists in many of the group's best-known productions.
Trained in Peking Opera, Philip Kwok developed the physical control and agility required for demanding martial arts choreography. His work with director Chang Cheh placed him alongside other Venom Mob performers and gave him opportunities to combine hand-to-hand combat, weapons work, acrobatics, and dramatic acting.

Philip Kwok appeared in films including Five Deadly Venoms, Crippled Avengers, Kid with the Golden Arm, Flag of Iron, The Daredevils, The Magnificent Ruffians, Masked Avengers, and House of Traps. He worked alongside Lu Feng, Chiang Sheng, Sun Chien, Lo Mang, and Wei Pai in several Shaw Brothers productions associated with the Venom Mob.

His fight scenes feature fast movement, acrobatics, traditional weapons, and carefully staged hand-to-hand combat. His Peking Opera background was well suited to the physical demands of the Venom Mob productions and became an important part of his screen work.
