The New Legend of Shaolin, also known as 新少林五祖, Hong Xi Guan : Zhi Shao Lin wu zu, Hung Hei-Koon: Shaolin's Five Founders, Legend Of The Future Shaolin, The Legend Of The Red Dragon, La Légende du dragon rouge released in the United Kingdom as Legend of the Red Dragon) is a 1994 Hong Kong martial arts film directed by Wong Jing and Corey Yuen, and produced by Jet Li, who also starred in the lead role. The film was released in the Hong Kong on 3 March 1994. This film showcases Hung Hei-kwun's exploits as a rebel against the Qing government. This is one of two films in which Li and Miu Tse play a father-son duo, the other being My Father Is a Hero.
(Synopsis): After his wife is killed by his enemies, he lives as a vagabond, accompanied by his 7 year old son. The two travel to a village, where Hung is hired as a guardsman for a feudal lord engaged to be married. Suspecting his boss future bride to be an infamous professional thief, Hung is otherwise occupied in the quest for five children who have tattooed on their backs the keys to finding the coveted treasure of the Temple of Shaolin. But Hung has sworn enemy, a traitorous monk who has transformed into a monstrous creature, is also after the mysterious treasure...
